One of the more interesting Polish DX operations planned for the coming weeks will begin on September 21, 2026. Jacek SP5EAQ will operate from Apia, Samoa, using the callsign 5W0AF. Samoa has the IOTA reference OC-097. The operation is scheduled to end on October 12.
Information published by SP DX Club in the PZK Bulletin of September 2 states that the operator plans to work SSB on the 80–10 m bands. The same dates and basic operation plan were also published in issue 1843 of the 425 DX News bulletin, dated August 29, 2026.
Contacts are to be confirmed via LoTW and through the OQRS SP7DQR. Detailed information about the expedition is also published on the dedicated 5W0AF website.
For Polish operators, this will be an interesting opportunity to work the South Pacific and add Samoa to their logs under a Polish expedition callsign.
