The organizers emphasize that proposals may cover virtually any topic related to amateur satellite activities. Suggested topics include, among others: the GOLF program and future AMSAT satellites, CubeSatSim, ARISS and crewed spaceflight, ground-station and antenna design, portable stations, SDR, telemetry collection and analysis, operating techniques, youth education, as well as DXpeditions and rover activities.
Anyone interested in giving a presentation should send the organizers a working title and a brief abstract to symposium@amsat.org. In its latest announcement, AMSAT does not specify a final deadline for submitting proposals, but notes that the number of program slots is limited and encourages people to submit topics as soon as possible.
Technical sessions will begin in the afternoon on October 9 and will continue on October 10. The AMSAT annual meeting and awards ceremony will also take place on Saturday. The organizer also plans an amateur-radio equipment auction, a banquet, and a webcast of the presentations for those unable to attend in person in Jacksonville.
This is also an interesting opportunity for those engaged in practical experiments with amateur satellites. AMSAT explicitly states that it is not seeking only formal scientific presentations—the invitation is also aimed at operators, designers, and educators who have built a device, developed software, carried out an interesting activity, or gained experience they would like to share with the community.
