Activity HF0PAS from the Henryk Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station on King George Island has reached another important milestone. Rafał SQ4O reported that his log already contained more than 5,000 QSOs. He made the milestone, 5,000th contact on 20 August 2026 at 20:38 with a station DH3GD from Germany.

Two days later, the log HF0PAS also showed an Australian station VK5KI. The activity conducted from one of the most remote locations from which a Polish radio amateur can operate has attracted considerable interest from operators worldwide since the beginning.

Rafał SQ4O is a participant in the 50th Polish Antarctic Expedition to the Henryk Arctowski Station. Operation under the callsign HF0PAS was scheduled from May to October 2026, primarily on the HF bands using SSB and CW, and under favorable conditions also on 6 meters, including FT8.

By the end of July, the log HF0PAS contained 3,541 QSOs. At that time, most contacts were made on 20 meters – 1,486 QSOs – and on 15 meters – 1,072 QSOs. The operator regularly uploads the log to LoTW, Club Log, and QRZ.com, allowing the contacts made to be verified on an ongoing basis.
