New Polish YSF reflectors are now operational

This is a project I have been working on for some time, covering both the configuration of the reflectors themselves and their integration with the rest of the infrastructure. My goal was not simply to launch additional access points to the YSF network, but to prepare a complete environment that would be convenient both for operators conducting QSOs and for those who simply want to monitor current activity.

As part of the project, three independent reflectors have been launched: YSF PL POLAND, YSF PL DYPLOMY and YSF PL WARMIA-MAZURY.

Each of them has its own web dashboard, prepared by me. This allows users to visit the website of a specific reflector and monitor its operation, station activity and information about current traffic in real time.

Another major part of the project was enabling listening access. Each reflector can now be monitored through its website. This is a convenient solution not only for people who do not have a radio with them at a given moment, but also when testing their own hotspot, repeater or connection configuration.

This makes it possible to transmit while simultaneously checking on the website whether the signal is reaching the reflector correctly and being forwarded.

An important part of the deployment was also connecting the new reflectors to the appropriate rooms operating on the BrandMeister and Wires-X systems. As a result, these environments do not operate completely independently, and users of different digital systems can meet in a shared communication space.

The aim was to create an infrastructure that is as consistent as possible, in which the technology used on the user's side does not create an unnecessary barrier to making contacts.

YSF PL POLAND is intended to serve as a nationwide meeting place for digital-network users. It is meant to provide a space for everyday conversations, testing and establishing contacts between radio amateurs from different parts of the country.

YSF PL DYPLOMY was prepared with activities related to award programs, amateur-radio events and various special activations in mind. In such situations, having a separate communication space can be particularly useful.

YSF PL WARMIA-MAZURY is a regional reflector, prepared primarily for the amateur-radio community of Warmia and Masuria. Of course, this does not mean that stations from other parts of the country are denied access. It is simply intended to be a natural meeting place for people connected with the region.

This is a good point at which to list all the services that have been launched in one place:

Launching the entire environment required more than just preparing the reflectors themselves. The work also included configuring services, establishing connections between the individual systems, preparing the web dashboards, enabling listening access and carrying out a series of tests to verify that traffic was being forwarded correctly.

I also devoted considerable attention to the user experience. I wanted visitors to be able to quickly see what was currently happening on the network when they opened a reflector's website, with access to the information being as simple and clear as possible.

At this point, the deployment has been completed and the entire system is ready for regular use.

I invite all YSF, BrandMeister and Wires-X users to test the new reflectors, make contacts and use the prepared dashboards and listening access.

I hope that regular activity will develop around them over time and that they will become another meeting place for Polish radio amateurs using digital modes.
