The activity was carried out by Golkem TA7AZC and Emre TA7EK. The island was activated not only as part of the IOTA program, but also for the WWFF, POTA and WCA.
Operating conditions required complete self-sufficiency. Giresun has no power infrastructure or running water, so all radio and communications equipment had to be transported to the island. The radios were powered by batteries, and the operators used portable antenna systems.
