On Saturday 24 October 2026 another edition will be held Essex CW Boot Camp & CW Conference, organised by the Essex CW Amateur Radio Club. The current RSGB events listing, checked and updated on 12 October, confirms the date and venue at 3rd Witham Scout and Guide HQ.
Registration will begin at 8:30, sessions at 9:00, and the event is scheduled to finish at around 16:30. The organisers note that places are limited. This year's edition was already almost fully booked in June, so attending requires contacting the club in advance.
The Boot Camp is training-focused. It is aimed at people who want to start learning CW, improve their receiving speed, or refine their sending technique. Essex CW ARC also runs online courses at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, while the event in Witham provides a practical complement to the club's training activities.
The event demonstrates that, despite the widespread use of digital modes and modern software CW remains an actively developing part of amateur radio, and training in manual reception and transmission continues to attract operators who want to improve their traditional operating skills.
