The main part of the event will be held in George Stephenson Hall. The organisers promise stands from manufacturers and sellers of radios, antennas and accessories, presentations by amateur-radio clubs and organisations, as well as a large outdoor equipment rally. The event is intended to be both a place to shop and an opportunity for operators to meet and exchange experiences.
The announced exhibitors include representatives of major radio-equipment manufacturers and UK amateur-radio organisations. This year's edition will also feature a special appearance by Martin Lynch & Sons, associated with celebrations of Martin Lynch's 70th birthday.
The event site will open to the public at 09:30, while the main hall will be open from 10:00–16:00 on both days. The organiser also offers stays in designated camping areas, although pitches for Thursday night have already sold out.
National Hamfest is organised in cooperation with the amateur-radio community, with volunteers from radio clubs and Radio Society of Great Britain.
