One of the key elements of this year's installation was a new switched dipole antenna, designed and built by Jim G0LHZ. According to the club's report, the antenna performed flawlessly and enabled rapid band changes. The station was equipped with an Elecraft K4, and was set up as a main station supported by a station searching for contacts.
Propagation conditions were initially poor, but improved on Saturday evening and Sunday. This enabled the operators to make many contacts with Asian stations taking part in the concurrently held All Asian DX Contest. Despite regularly checking the 10-metre band, the RADARC team made no contacts on it.
Members of clubs from Reading and Bracknell also took part in the event, helping to prepare the station and all the facilities for the field weekend. The report was written by David M0DHO, while the photographs were taken by Ace G0ACE.
